The Children’s Art Studio

The Children’s Art Studio is a 501c3 non-profit organization registered in the District of Columbia. We are a network of visual art instructors delivering outstanding instruction, curriculum development, and teacher training to schools and organizations across metropolitan Washington.
With over a dozen teachers and partners ranging from schools to community-based organizations, our services are responsive, place-based, and mission-driven. The Children's Art Studio has a vision in which every child experiences the pride, pleasure, and personal reward of a rigorous arts curriculum.
In School Partnership Programs
Are you a principal interested in bringing the joy of art to your school? Are you the director of a community center who wants to upgrade the enrichment activities offered at your site? For over a decade, the Children’s Art Studio has been bringing excellent art instruction to the youngest residents of Washington DC. 100% of parents surveyed gave the Children’s Art Studio five-out-of-five gold stars for Activity, Provider, and Instructor.
What To Expect
One-on-one Attention
Your child will receive one-on-one attention and tailored instruction from our teachers who have decades of experience. Our goal is to teach art-making techniques in a relaxing and upbeat environment! Children are divided by age into small groups in order to be able to connect and engage with each other. We work hard and have a blast . Come celebrate the joy of art together with us.

Everyone is welcome at the Children's Art Studio. If your child has a passion for art, you are in the right place. In class, we meet children where they are at and encourage all effort. Furthermore, the Children’s Art Studio is committed to bringing the pleasure of art to all children, throughout our city.
Portfolio
At the end of class, each child will have created a memorable portfolio of art pieces, with frame-worthy work to share with friends and family! We include a wide range of the most beautiful children’s books in our teaching for inspiration, and it shows. The art work gets more sophisticated and the students enjoy the stories and images. Get ready to turn your home into a gallery and fill your walls with art.
Tactile Experiences
Getting kids to engage in tactile experiences has never been more important! We introduce raw materials and hands-on techniques so students gain skills, focus, awareness and self-esteem. Sensory-rich experiences develop coordination, creativity, confidence and self-expression. Our calm, upbeat, structured classes are the perfect antidote to stress.
